Here's just a small sampling of the groups I've served over the years.
"Cultural Institution" barely begins to describe Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. With 49 years of presenting top-tier ballet, PBT is an anchor in Pittsburgh's arts community and continues to push the boundaries of what it means to be a dance company. Working closely with PBT's School department, I assisted in taking the pre-professional division (dancers 18-24) on the road to share classical and contemporary ballet with grade-school students around Allegheny County.
From time-to-time I enjoy picking up special projects with companies such as HEAR Corp, a design and rental company based in Pittsburgh's Northside. My most recent project with HEAR Corp was as lighting technician for the Community College of Beaver County's 50 Shining Stars Golden Gala. Together with a team of videographers, audio engineers and designers, the Dome at CCBC was transformed into a gleaming planetarium filled with music and guests.
Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Pittsburgh, PA
Senior Production Manager & ADA Coordinator
If I was to choose an alternate title to sum up the work I did at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, it would be "Wearer of Hats and Director of Miscellany." My role grew from the oversight of performance operations and crew personnel to also include ADA Coordination functions, facility and operations management, marketing, development, social media and graphic design support, front of house, security and hospitality coordination, as well as any special projects that needed doing. KST's mission and programs support the vibrant, but often overlooked neighborhood of East Liberty and I am proud to have contributed to the defense and expansion of arts causes in the East End.
Neu Kirche Contemporary Art Center, Pittsburgh, PA
A/V System Designer
Over the course of Summer 2016, I designed and installed a new audio and projection system for the Neu Kirche's renovated Grand Hall chapel venue. Capable of supporting events from lectures and workshops to dance performances and concerts, I take pride in having been able to assist this fantastic organization fully utilize their beautiful space.
Lost Boys Productions, Pittsburgh, PA
2014 saw the creation of Lost Boys Productions by a small group of like-minded artists. In their inaugural season, I worked to produce multiple shows including Shadow, an original concept story told through shadow puppetry, Wonderland, a new adaptation of Lewis Carol's classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and coordinated several fundraisers including a wildly successful stand-up comedy night featuring a line-up of young, local comedians.
P.A.R.K. Productions, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA
In P.A.R.K.'s inaugural season, I was tasked with forming a dream team of young, local theater artists to breathe life into cabaret events, fundraisers, and the company's first full-scale production, The Rocky Horror Show. I worked closely with this team, as well as P.A.R.K.'s Board of Directors, and the staff of the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret to set the new performance group on the path to success.
Pinnacle Productions, Pittsburgh, PA
I served as the Marketing Manager of Pinnacle Productions during their 2014-2015 season. This student group on Point Park University's campus produces eight shows per academic year for which I was charged with creating all the marketing materials including posters and social media outreach. In addition to these tasks, I directed a production of Bert V. Royal's DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead in October of 2014.
Adirondack Theatre Festival, Glens Falls, NY
Company MAnagement Intern
During the Summer of 2014, I served as the Company Management Intern for the 20th Anniversary Season at ATF where I assisted the Company Manager in planning and executing major internal and external events including company outings, holiday celebrations and patron gatherings. In this role, I also served as one of four rotating house managers and met the hospitality needs of all artists, interns and staff.
Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh, PA
While attending Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts, I was fortunate enough to be awarded an Artistic Apprenticeship Award that led to an apprenticeship with the Pittsburgh Playhouse's Marketing Department that lasted for my final two years of school. The purview of my work included weekly newsletter for both subscription holders and another for internal use to staff, coordinating the "Playhouse Street Team" in social media and print marketing efforts, and archival work across the Playhouse's collection of over 65 years of show materials.
Spare Shakespeare, Miami, FL
Spare Shakespeare is the young company of Shakespeare Miami, a 501(c)(3) theater organization, based in Miami, Florida. Our mission is to educate our community about the works of Shakespeare and other literary masters and integrate technology and other innovative media forms to make our plays accessible to all kinds of audiences.
Shakespeare Miami, Coconut Grove, FL
Stage Management Intern
In the Summer of 2013, I joined the team at Shakespeare Miami as their Stage Management intern during the pre-production phase of The Tempest. While there, I created a new archive system for past press materials and all the stage and production management materials for the show.
